[Round table] the evolution of radio professions: towards even more versatility?

With the democratization of broadband and the advent of computer tools that have replaced analogue tools, the professions of radio have changed profoundly in recent years. In the premises, the host must now know how to program and animate the antenna, such as social networks. Journalists also have to photograph and sometimes film in the field. Like the host, the journalist can sometimes be a columnist. Will the next decade still be marked by this imperative adaptability?

Gradually, thanks to the impetus given by the Higher Council of the Audiovisual, and in particular thanks to the strategy known as the “Plan de l’Audiovisuel” of Nicolas Curien’s nodes and arcs, the DAB+ is being set up in large French cities. However, this is based on long and patient work, particularly at the technical level. We will look at the genesis of sound coding and digital broadcasting. And then we’ll ask ourselves: what differentiates this technology from that of frequency modulation? What are its strengths and capabilities for progress and sustainability? A new method of dissemination based on exemplary European collaboration and promising local initiatives.
