DAB+ is the core future platform for radio ()

AudioClassroom

The broadcast radio industry is in a period of rapid change. The new EU Directive requiring all new car radios sold in the European Union to be capable of receiving digital terrestrial radio is accelerating the rollout of DAB+ across Europe. In France, over 20% of population is now covered with DAB+, meaning manufacturers will be required to equip all radio receivers with a DAB+ chip in the next 18 months. This session gives an update on the rollout of DAB+ in France, across Europe and beyond, explains where DAB+ fits in radio’s digital ecology and tells broadcasters about the resources freely available to help them promote DAB+ to the listener. The audio advertising market in 2019 ()

AudioClassroom

The radio advertising market (700 million euros in turnover) has resisted well to the arrival of the Internet, while the press has suffered enormously. Faced with the GAFAs, radio must reinvent itself in terms of offer and creation. Digital audio is also an extraordinary opportunity. How do groups and regulators adapt their offer to this issue?

2019 trends in radio imaging ()

AudioClassroom

The music we hear but do not always listen ... The attention paid to the dressing and the musical illustrations of the radio programs is at least as old as the radio itself. By nature, the color of these sound elements evolves with the time and the trends but also according to the public to which these programs are addressed. Thus the dressing of an information program is not that of a documentary or fictional content, as that of a national program differs from that of proximity. The economy of the means of realization and the available technological means will also influence the way of illustrating. Last but not least, the philosophy implemented by the production teams - highlighting, counterpoint, creation or order, group synergy - gives their content an identity of their own. All these aspects influence the dedicated musical creation, whether it comes from studios of independent musicians or bookstores that have systematized for decades recurring or particular needs. Aspects that will be discussed in turn during our masterclass with antenna directors from France Info, Europe 1 and RMC
