La pandemia de COVID-19 ha abierto las brechas entre el área rural y las ciudades: Mientras los y los estudiantes de las ciudades participan en clases virtuales, las niñas y los niños de áreas rurales se quedan afuera del sistema de educación y pierden oportunidades. Junto con su socio CEPRA de Cochabamba en Bolivia la DW Akadmie intenta a cerrar la brecha educativa: La radio escuela combina un programa radiofónico educativo y cartillas lúdicas con el objetivo de fortalecer la alfabetización mediática e informacional y el aprendizaje autónomo de las niñas y los niños de las comunidades del área rural.
