One of the 21st Century’s great gifts to humanity is the internet. For the first time in our history, it has become harder for tyrants to hide their heinous deeds. Information from every corner of our globe can be sent instantly to millions more. Yet, like every new invention, the internet can be used for good and evil. The democratization of voices has sadly resulted in an easier way for falsehoods to prosper. It’s harder to discern between what is factual and what is fabricated. Too many of us are taken in by false information because we have never been taught the skills to analyse, critically assess and verify.
