The internet is one of the great gifts of the 21st century to humanity. For the first time in our history, it has become more difficult for dictators to cover up their actions. Information from every corner of the globe can be sent instantly to millions of people. Yet, like any new invention, the internet can be used for good and evil. It is more difficult to discern what is factual and what is not. Too many of us are still being misled by false information because we were never taught the skills to analyse, critically evaluate and verify.
